The Flamboyant Flirt (closed)

Making his way through the halls and towards the main offices, Arkady, the school's art department head, made his way towards the Headmaster's office. Just recently, his students had helped him come up with a good reason to go on a field trip to a nearby museum and he crossed his fingers that she'd say yes to his request. It wasn't even a serious field trip, seeing as it was only a day trip, so she'd better not have a problem with it...

Humming a tune from a movie he'd recently watched, his mind began to wander and he tried to remember what the movie had been, seeing as though he'd been humming the song for almost the entire day. Secretariat? No, it hadn't been about a horse that was for sure... Secretary, that's what it was! Secretary... why was that such an important word? Because Katherine Rose was the school's secretary; that was why.

Not only did she have her looks about her, but also her wits, which meant she was no easy catch. He'd seen guys throw themselves at her time and time again, only to be rejected, and for whatever reason he hadn't really tried himself. But unlike those dorks, he had something they didn't; charm. He was a master of his ways and continuing towards the offices, he made a decision; that he would try his hand at grabbing her attention, and he wouldn't give up until he did so. She certainly was a gem, that was for sure, and if she was smart, she'd see that he was as well.

Slowing his pace, Arkady took a couple steps back and soon stood in front of a canvas painting of vibrant roses, all wrapped together with a pink ribbon. These would do perfectly.

Placing his hand onto the rough textured piece of artwork, it only took a couple of moments before the roses popped out of the painting and into his hand, leaving a canvas that was seemingly... empty. Of course, he hadn't necessarily thought about what came with roses, and almost dropped the bouquet as thorns dug into the palms of his hands. Trying his best not to curse out loud, he pressed his lips together as he re-situated the flowers in his hands. Now, to continue onto his little... detour.

Just about to round the corner where her desk sat, Arkady peeked around the corner, waiting till the blond secretary looked down at the papers on her desk. Running a hand through his wavy yet tamed hair, and carrying the bunch of flowers behind his back, he swiftly made his way over to her desk.

Holding out the bouquet of roses, his usual charming smile rested on his face as he looked down at her. "Some roses, for a Rose," the smooth sounding teacher spoke.

It was the start of the school year. So naturally, Kathy was swarmed with paperwork. It wasn't any big issue to her - loads of paperwork was her thing. In fact, she really just kept it for the sake of the other teachers and headmistress. When it came to sorting through files or discovering information, most of it was simply stored within her brain. It was her gift, and one she thoroughly appreciated for her job. So, while her desk looked like an unorganized, chaotic swarm of papers... she easily could locate any piece of paper requested.

Taking a sip out of her signature silver mug, the taste of coffee once more bolstering her energy, she returned to work. The incoming class would be one of the largest. She also had to add a new section to almost all of the papers... World hopper. It was a phenomenon she herself didn't entirely understand yet, despite all of the research she had possibly done. But, she would accomodate for these students just as she had with all of the others before.

While her office area was usually quiet with nervous students, the occasional chatter as a few of the familiar faces came to grab a peppermint or say hi to the fish, today it was the first time she finally had a bit of silence. It had been rather loud, new faces coming in to register and the like. Of course, though, it meant she would be able to dive right on into her work.

Getting up to file away a good ten or twelve folders, Kathy finally settled back down at her desk. While it was somewhat cleaner, papers and various neat stacks still littered her area. What caught her off-guard was the sounds of footsteps, as well as the smooth voice of the art teacher.

Jumping in her seat, she looked up to the familiar face, reaching for her coffee to hide how she had been startled. Offering a smile, she took another sip, finally setting it down. "Good day, Arkady," Kathy nodded. She graciously accepted the roses, spinning in her chair to move her pens to rest them in the glass holder. "Thank you, what might I be able to do for you today?" Her dialogue quickly started, going through the words she said all-too often.

Glad to see that she'd liked the gift he'd brought, Arkady placed a palm on the edge of her desk and so that he cool lean down ever so slightly. "Well I was in the neighborhood and thought I'd pop on over to see if you were around," he grinned, his voice soft and flowing as if he knew exactly what to say and do. "Low and behold, you're here and my day just got ten times better," the tall teacher spoke, meeting the secretary's emerald gaze with his own.

Her eyebrow raised just slightly as his explanation rang out. It wasn't typical for many to simply come hang around her, unless it was for a few peppermints or to feed and enjoy the fish she kept. But at the notion of brightening his day, she couldn't help but chuckle. "I'm quite glad I have that effect," Kathy began. "Although I have a feeling you're taking this prep period to also talk with the Headmistress?" She asked. Might as well get the business out of the way first, after all.

So far so good. He was good at more than just being an art teacher, that was for sure.

"Eh, she can wait. She's probably busy anyway, so it works out splendidly," he mused, waving his hand in a a dismissive sort of way in the direction headmistress's office. "So, how's all this... fun stuff goin'?" he chuckled, his olive green gaze scanning over the stacks of papers scattered around her desk.
